Sooo, ive seen lots of vector art around da, and always wondered how they were made. I read in my "photoshop 7 for dummies" the little info they had on it (which didnt explain it very well) and sort of understood how to do it. Supposedly, adobe illustrator is better to use, so I used it. This is my first vector piece.
Manda took this picture of herself with my digital camera [link] , and i thought I would try it out for the vector thing. I like how it turned out, but I'm wondering if it's too busy for a vector piece?
Yeah. I'll be submitting the photo I used as well. This took me about 4 or 5 hours.

This is great. I love pieces with high contrast... And I have extreme respect for those who can turn an ordinary photograph into a piece of artwork as you have. Tremendous job on that, and considering this is your first attempt its even better. My dad is a graphic designer, so he's done a lot of things like this... but I can't say his are any better than what you have here. 
In addition, I like how androgynous she looks... if you hadn't titled it as so I wouldn't have known what to think.
