Spring and Change

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 18, 2009, 11:44 PM
New things are going on all over. My rut seems to have receded a bit and new things are emerging all over the place. I've been more sociable than before and I've been painting, and not eating a lot of the horrible crap that I was before.

Thanks to everyone that has checked out my new paintings and double-thanks to anyone who dropped a comment or fav. I was having some frustration creating anything I actually liked, and I'm glad I was finally able to. Furthermore, I'm glad some people agree with me. There is definitely more to come. I plan to paint a bit tonight and possibly this weekend too. It's weird how I'll suddenly just be ready to paint.

After ~Annalee announced that she got a facebook account, it made me realize there is more to do there. People seem to communicate on there more than they do on myspace for some reason too. So I've been searching for people there and adding books I've read and movies I've watched. I also figured I'd get a Twitter.com account, and I like that a lot. It's so much more loose and easy than the other stuff. So let me know if you want to be facebook or twitter buddies.

I got some watercolor paints the other day and used them to create my 2 newest paintings. I started a third but didn't finish it yet. I have really been looking for decent gouache for a long time, and have only seen stuff that is too expensive or looks like really crappy paint. I went to art supply warehouse the other day and got Pelikan gouache that was surprisingly cheap. I also got some more permapaques. I bought two of those mini simpsons figures that are through kidrobot. [link] They are sealed so that you don't know which one you're getting. I got Homer and Sideshow Bob, which is very awesome.

Boy February sure did suck in retrospect.

Anyway, it seems like the best thing to do to stave off the ruts (for me at least) is to keep busy and on track. I think work lately has been helping me to feel useful, which doesn't feel fantastic until you've felt useless for a while.

I recommend everyone get into new things. Find new music, things to do online, try different food places. It's been helping me out a lot. A guidance counselor at my high school once told me that change is good for the soul. I believed her at the time, but this is even more true when the status quo totally sucks.

it's like it hasn't really come across northern europe yet.. but I've heard it here and there...

..and well.. art supplies are so ridiculously expensieve.. I narrowed my last works down to pencils.. and crappy brown paper..
I'm sitting here with the flu, in my room, at my school.. hungry, but with no food... which kindda sucks! - and I'm quite easy to find on facebook if you wish!
happy weekend (it's soon!)..

Twitter is like facebook but way more simple. Like a one sentence blog.

I was sick recently too, because it was really cold and I didn't wear a jacket. I hope you feel better soon.
